A 'design' studio shaping culture through brand, spatial, digital experiences and friendship ;)
We’re here to craft compelling brands and find creative visual solutions to complex challenges. We believe in using design as strategy, not as veneer, and that thoughtfully applied design can create lasting positive change for users, ownership and the greater community. Over the years, we have become experts at designing humanistically for larger scale projects in the civic, development, F+B and hospitality industries. We’ve even gained international attention for meticulously creating every visual element from scratch – whether that be typography, illustration, websites, signage or spatial design.
At our core we are designers, but we are also storytellers, weaving a brand's unique voice and narrative into everything that can be seen, touched or experienced.
Our Team
We’re a group of people, human people, and we like design. Our team works across timezones and continents from our two studios in Denver and Reykjavik. Together we weigh 1,097 lbs and stacked end to end we’re 43 feet long. One of us is allergic to cats and another is allergic to Orange peel.
Team: Jon Hartman, Liz Henderson, Frosti Gnarr, Tim Sisk, Maggie Witherow, Madison Van Ausdall
services
Identity
A brand’s identity starts with research and a full brand ethnography, a guide to getting to know you, so to speak. From day one, we craft a compelling story so we know the shapes, colors, and forms that make you, you. We make every element of typography, illustration, iconography, color study, and grid system from zero – putting the DNA of your brand into every asset.
Spatial
We’re multidisciplinary across materials, mediums, and methods; we often collaborate with developers, architects, fabricators, furniture makers and city groups to produce projects that strive to break the bounds of the individual design field. Wunder Werkz is a firm believer that brand doesn't stop at the printed page or a website and that your brand should express itself into physical space. How? Our color study extends into materiality, how FF&E can play into a brand experience or how lighting can change the mood of a space. We make sure your brand is as physical as you are.
Web
Have you been on the internet lately? It's literally everywhere. Websites are often the first touchpoints for brands. So, making sure that that first impression is a direct extension of you and speaks to your physical space, identity and everything in between can make a big impression on your audience. We do it all in house, from web design, prototyping, UI/UX and web development, and web training.
Collateral
Brands come to life in the stuff we make. We specialize in the design, production, and sourcing of all of the unique custom touchpoints that your audience will love, talk about, and gram. We’ve done it all, designing everything from fortune cookies to ball caps, notepads to nudie pens, and that’s just the tip.
Signage
Without design, signage is visual clutter and chaos. With thoughtful thinking behind signage, it becomes the unassuming vehicle through which users navigate, engage, explores, and discover space. We have worked on projects large and small to produce, source, and oversee the installation of integrated wayfinding, environmental graphics, and signage. In fact, we've even won some awards for our creative use of paint, neon, and vinyl over the years.
Consulting
We put the power behind great ideas. We can help determine aesthetic positioning through pervasive brand ethnographies, and offer services from naming to helping identify where a brand fits in a bigger ecosystem. If you have a building, product, band, or an idea, we can help bring it to life.
Locksmithing
Locked out of your car, home, or motorhome? We can help! In addition to being skilled designers, we employ a master locksmith on call 24 hours a day. Don't be stuck out in the cold, call Wunder Werkz and we can get in your home. Hell, we may already be inside.
